Peptide FGL (L)

Peptide FGL (L)

This exciting new peptide was awarded a 60 million grant in 2016 for further exploration of its effects helping those with neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer’s / dementia. FGL (L) is a variant of the naturally occurring neural cell adhesion molecule (NCAM) which exists of the surface of nervous system and brain cells. This peptide signals cellular pathways resulting in promotion of neural cell growth and survival of cells adversely affected by lack of circulation, or exposed to oxidative stress mechanisms. Along with the hope of improvement in cognitive function, FGL (L) is being studied for its therapeutic benefit for TBI (traumatic brain Injury), stroke and depression.
